This activity is a great way to get rid of the clothing and accessories you or your family don't need anymore and pass it on to someone who does! Ask sisters to invite their neighbors and friends.
Activity Suggestions
You'll want to tailor this activity to the needs and interests of your sisters. Here are some ideas generously shared by other RS sisters:
Decide what type of clothing you want to exchange. You may want to exchange clothing for the whole family or only exchange women's clothing.
Decide in advance how you will organize the tables and where each category will be. If you are exchanging clothing for the whole family, you will need many more tables than if you are only exchanging women's clothing.
Decide how you will label the tables. I find it best to have colored craft paper and use different colors to code each category. Use a thick permanent marker to make signs easy to read.
Make arrangements to have left over clothing donated to your local non-profit donation center.
Do you want to have refreshments? I would recommend at least providing something to drink because shopping always makes me thirsty!
Do you want to provide fitting rooms? If yes, you'll want to have a fitting room attendant and cover the windows on the doors as well as provide a way to tell if rooms are occupied or not.
The first 30 minutes or so of the activity time can be used to allow sisters to place their clothing on the assigned table, then everyone can start shopping!
