This activity is an opportunity to reflect on our own desire to ask and receive answers to our prayers. I think Joseph Smith's prayers were answered because he was ready to obey. As we contemplate our own questions and seek revelations, the Lord will "reach our reaching."
Activity Suggestions
You'll want to tailor this activity to the needs and interests of your sisters. Here are some ideas generously shared by other sisters:
Do a guided painting party of the Sacred Grove. The painting can be hung and serve as a reminder to continually ask for revelations for our own lives. Click HERE for guided painting instructions. I recommend completing the paint on your own prior to the activity to have an example to share with the sisters. You can play the video during the activity or guide them through the process yourself. The video is approximately an hour long.
Learn or have someone perform " My Own Sacred Grove" by Angie Killian Music, click HERE to listen to the song; for sheet music click HERE.
Have a discussion of what a Sacred Grove means. Have a sister share a story about her own Sacred Grove and how it helped her through a difficult time in her life.
Create prayer journals that can be used to record prayers and personal revelations. You could prepare Composition notebooks by painting the covers white and using them as a canvas for the guided painting activity suggested above.
